Misfuelling – a cost driver
is a German product which is distributed successfully in Europe since 2008. AdBlue is the german name
for diesel exhaust fluid (DEF).
Fleet managers with alternating drivers know this problem. Wehn tanking diesel, drivers tend to fill the wrong
tnk. Then diesel fuel flows into the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank where it causes serious damages.
After each misfill, the tank has to be cleaned, and the DEF-system has to be overhauled completly. The costs might reach up to 5.000 Euro per case. For bigger fleets, in particular in the rental market, this might lead to millions of damages per year.
